The Mediterranean Diet? Ketogenic? Pescetarian? Flexitarian? Vegetarian? Vegan? Lower-carbohydrate real food? An internet search can easily provide the description and claimed reasoning behind this so-called ‘healthy diets’. Which healthy diet would most probably be the right one for YOU?
Since the pandemic there has been a welcome focus on diet, health and eating to promote health and wellbeing. It’s good to see that many people are moving away from the average Western diet which is full of convenience foods, ultra-processed foods, fake foods and little resembling anything our great/grandparents would recognise. Healthy diet, better nutrition and healthier choices is a step in the right direction of course.
It’s important to note however that many people are likely to have become nutrient-deficient after following a poor diet previously. So if you want to try a health-full new diet, consult with a CNHC-Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner who is trained to discuss nutrient-rich foods which are likely to be right for you. With their help, make sure you get the laboratory work done first if possible to see where you may be nutritionally-deficient, so that you know exactly which foods would seem a better choice for you before you start any new eating plan. Agreed approved foods, easy recipes and cooking methods can then be selected. That is what making healthy choices FOR YOU is all about!
Finally after you have started your personalised new diet, check in with the Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner regularly to make sure your optimal nutrition is rebalancing your wellbeing appropriately.
